Interpretation
Positive cultures are reported semi-quantitatively with organism
identification.
Susceptibility testing performed by request only. Testing for the
presence of a beta-lactamase will be performed as appropriate.
Rejection Criteria
Specimens from the following sites are inappropriate for anaerobic culture: oral, genital swabs, placenta (vaginally delivered), IUD, respiratory specimens, stool, rectal abscess, superficial wounds
