Testing includes an ABO/Rh and a direct antiglobulin test (DAT) for the evaluation of maternal Rh Immune Globulin indications and hemolytic disease of the newborn. Testing is performed when the mother is Rh negative, blood type O or known to have clinically significant antibodies. In the absence of these criteria, testing may be cancelled.
