Interpretation
Vaginal Swabs:
Yeast and/or clue cells will be reported semi-quantitatively.
The presence of clue cells is suggestive of bacterial vaginitis.
Detection of yeast may be associated with a vaginal yeast
infection. Clinical correlation is recommended.
Trichomonas vaginalis will be reported if motile parasites
are observed.
Penile Discharge:
Presence or absence of Trichomonas will be reported.
