Interpretation
A positive result indicates the presence of lactoferrin, a
marker for fecal leukocytes.
A negative result does not exclude the presence of intestinal
inflammation.
In patients <1yo, the Leuko EZ VUE may
be falsely positive. In these patients, a gram stain is performed
and the average number of WBC per high
power field of view is reported up to >25/hpf.
