Detects the JAK2 exon 14 V617F variant, which is present in >90 % of polycythemia veras. Used to assist in diagnosis and discrimination between Ph-negative myeloproliferative neoplasms (MPNs). This test is for JAK2 V617F detection only; for JAK2 reflex testing on peripheral blood see test JAK2RB.
