Additional Test Codes

Epic Order Name: MICROSATELLITE INSTABILITY BY PCR
Sunquest Order Code: MSIPCR
Epic Px Code: LAB2925

Specimen Collection Type

FFPE tissue: 5 to 10 slides, each up to 10 ?m thick plus one additional H&E reference slide with both tumor tissue and normal tissue (no tumor) clearly marked.

Minimum Collection Volume

FFPE: 5 unstained slides + 1 representative H&E; Normal and tumor tissue must both be present and clearly differentiated.

Additional Information / Notes

Useful for identify patients at risk for Lynch syndrome. This test compares representative normal and tumor tissue at five microsatellite regions. A clearly marked “normal” (tumor-free) sample is required for analysis. Samples without a corresponding “normal” sample cannot be adequately analyzed and will be rejected.

Rejection Criteria

FFPE tumor specimen with a tumor percentage < 5 %, or with otherwise inadequate cellular content. Specimen with no corresponding “normal” (tumor-free) tissue.
