Random Urine Collection Procedure:
MALE:
1. Wash hands with soap and water.
2. Wipe the end of the penis with the towelette provided. As you start to urinate, allow a small amount of urine to fall into the toilet bowl. (This clears the urethra of contaminants). Do not touch the inside of the cup.
3. Please do not put towelette in the toilet. Discard in the trash receptacle.
4. Begin urinating and catch the sample during the middle of urination in the container given to you. Tighten the lid onto the container.
5. Place the specimen in the designated cabinet.
Female:
1. Wash hands with soap and water.
2. Assume a squatting position on the toilet. Spread the labia a part (folds of skin) with one hand and wipe with the towelette provided. Wipe front to back. Repeat with second towelette.
3. Please do not put towelette in the toilet. Discard in the trash receptacle.
4. Begin urinating and catch the sample during the middle of urination in the container given to you. Tighten the lid onto the container.
5. Place the specimen in the designated cabinet.
